The Mia lab collaborates with Professor Leila Ammar-Keskes at the University of Sfax, Tunisia, in the context of the MICAfrica Project, a North-African Consortium of the Human Microbiome (NACHM). This collaboration aims to strengthen capacities in microbiome analysis for human diseases. The MICAfrica Project has advanced microbiome research by uncovering relationships between the microbiome and various diseases, while also developing diagnostic and preventive tools. This collaboration has also facilitated an exchange of students, further fostering academic and scientific growth, and creating opportunities for shared expertise and capacity building in microbiome research.
